MD, FRCSC
Associate Professor Warren Boling, MD, FRCSC is a highly qualified neurosurgeon. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Neurosurgery and Fellow of the Canadian Royal College of Surgeons. He has published research in prestigious medical journals and authored book chapters. He has membership and participates in many organizations related to neurosurgery.
Associate Professor Boling’s extensive training included residency in neurosurgery at the University of Kentucky where he gained skill in general neurosurgery and the treatment of complex spinal disorders. Advanced fellowship training was completed at the Montreal Neurological Institute where Associate Professor Boling developed advanced surgical skills for the treatment epilepsy and brain tumours. He then continued his fellowship training at the Austin and Repatriation Medical Centre, in Melbourne, where additional expertise was gained in epilepsy treatment.
Associate Professor Boling then returned to the Montreal Neurological Institute as an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery. At this prestigious institute, dedicated to the treatment of neurological disease, his research was focused on brain imaging and the treatment of complex epilepsy. His clinical practice included all neurosurgical disorders, with a focus on participation in the comprehensive epilepsy program.
Associate Professor Boling then moved to West Virginia University, USA as an Associate Professor. Here he founded a comprehensive epilepsy treatment program that quickly became one of the premier American epilepsy centres. He was a key member of the neuro-oncology team and he directed the Gamma Knife Radiosurgery program. Associate Professor Boling’s expertise also includes the treatment of complex spinal conditions, including minimally invasive spine surgery.
Associate Professor Boling is a recognised expert in neurosurgery. He comes to Australia from North America, attracted by the opportunity to work with other medical and surgical specialists at Precision Neurosurgery and the University of Melbourne. His greatest motivation is to provide neurosurgical care of the highest quality for the people of Victoria and Australia.
