Acoustic Neuromas (‘Vestibular Schwannomas’)

These are usually benign tumours arising from the cells lining the hearing and balance nerves at the base of the brain.

They may cause dizziness, ringing in the ears (tinnitus), hearing loss, as well as weakness of one side of the face.

Acoustic neuromas are treated with surgery or GammaKnife radiosurgery.
