A variety of conditions resulting from compression of peripheral nerves are treated at Precision Neurosurgery. These include:

In most cases, these nerves are compressed by overlying fibrous tissue. Occasionally, tumours or other rare causes may be responsible.

Generally, patients present with pain, numbness, weakness, or a combination of these.

The diagnosis is usually made using nerve conduction studies; however an MRI is sometimes also performed.

Treatment of patients who have failed conservative measures (analgesia, splinting) frequently comprises surgery. In most cases the nerve is decompressed by carefully incising the overlying constrictive tissue.
