Post Stroke Pain

Post-stroke pain is a frequently debilitating condition whereby a person who has suffered a stroke subsequently develops severe pain affecting an area (often a very large area) of the body. This condition may respond to specific pain medications, however many patients do not obtain satisfactory pain relief- for those severely affect, deep brain stimulation (DBS) or spinal cord stimulation may be an option.
